Job Specification: 

Exp:5-10 years 
Job Location : Hyderabad/Chennai/Noida. 
Interview location: Hyderabad 

VMware L2 Administration : 

Responsibilities : VMware L2 support. Basic problem resolution, routine maintenance of VMware environment, implementation of standard Service Requests 

Essential Skills : 
1. Scripted rebuilds & fresh installs. 
2. General Troubleshooting. 
3. Routine maintenance on servers. 
4. Performance monitoring. 
5. Service Requests. 
Essential Knowledge : 
1. Good knowledge on VMware GSX/ESX Servers. 
2. Good knowledge on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 & Windows 2003 including Active Directory. 
3. Good knowledge about backup/restores & the software available. 
4. Should have worked with OEM hardware (IBM/HP) & remote connectivity tools. 
5. Should be aware of RAID concepts and disk management tools. 
6. Should have good troubleshooting skills. 
Desirable : Experience in supporting big environments. 
Certifications : MCP / MCSE on windows. 
VMware L3 Administration : 

Responsibilities : L3 support for VMware, Handling escalated issues. Participation in Server Restoration Team and doing Root Cause Analysis. 

Essential Skills : 
1. Scripted rebuilds & fresh installs. 
2. Creation of scripts. 
3. Troubleshooting escalated issues. 
4. Performance monitoring. 
5. Design & implementation. 
6. Mentoring team members doing L2 support. 
7. Documenting the changes. 
8. Preparing Disaster Recovery documents. 
9. Attend SRT and prepare RCA document. 
Essential Knowledge : 
1. Expert in VMware GSX/ESX servers. 
2. Should have scripting knowledge for scripted installs. 
3. Familiarity to Linux environment. 
4. Sound knowledge of SAN environment. 
5. Should be an expert in Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 & Windows 2003 including Active Directory. 
6. Excellent troubleshooting skills. 
7. Should have expertise in backup products. 
8. Should have worked with Windows Resource Kit & Support tools. 
9. Should have worked with OEM hardware (IBM/HP), & remote connectivity tools. 
10. Knowledge of Windows Registry, including knowledge of modifying system registry to support installed applications and document configuration changes. 
11. Basic knowledge of Citrix environment. 

Desirable : Experience in supporting big global accounts. 

Certifications : MCSE on windows 

Windows L2 Administration : 

Responsibilities : Windows L2 support. Routine day-to-day maintenance and administration. Implementation of standard service requests. Basic problem resolution & troubleshooting. 

Essential Skills : 
1. Day-to-day administration of windows environment. 
2. Routine maintenance on servers. 
3. Participation in migrations & implementations. 
4. Service Requests. 

Essential Knowledge : 
1. Good knowledge on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 & Windows 2003 including Active Directory. 
2. Good knowledge on WINS, DNS & DHCP administration, configuration, troubleshooting & implementation. 
3. Good knowledge about backup/restores & the software available. 
4. Should have worked with OEM hardware (IBM/HP), & remote connectivity tools. 
5. Should have familiarization to patching tools such as Hfnetchkpro, SUS etc. 
6. Have worked with different antivirus products. 
7. Should be aware of RAID concepts and disk management tools. 

Desirable : Experience in supporting big environments. 

Certifications : MCP or MCSE, preferably 2003. 


Windows L3 Administration : 

Responsibilities : Windows L3 support. Handling escalated issues. Participation in Server Restoration Team and doing Root Cause Analysis. 

Essential Skills : 
1. Troubleshooting escalated issues. 
2. Identifying problem areas and finding out ways to reduce that. 
3. Mentoring team members doing L2 support. 
4. Coordinating with different lines of services and ensuring that SLA's are never missed. 
5. Documenting the changes. 
6. Preparing Disaster Recovery documents. 
7. Attend SRT and prepare RCA document. 

Essential Knowledge : 
1. Strong knowledge on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 & Windows 2003 including Active Directory. 
2. Should have good knowledge & troubleshooting skills on MS Clusters, Windows Load Balancing . 
3. Excellent troubleshooting skills. 
4. Should have expertise in backup products. 
5. Should have worked with Windows Resource Kit & Support tools. 
6. Expertise in WINS, DNS, DHCP & TCP/IP protocol suite and command line utilities. 
7. Scripting knowledge such as VB Scripts, KIX etc will be an added advantage. 
8. Should have worked with OEM hardware (IBM/HP), & remote connectivity tools. 
9. Should have worked with more than one patching & antivirus tools. 
10. Knowledge of Windows Registry, including knowledge of modifying system registry to support installed applications and document configuration changes. 

Desirable : Experience in supporting big global accounts. 

Certifications : MCSE, preferred Windows 2003.
